Populate's Daniel Simmons wins Young Business Person of the Year Award

We are delighted to announce that Daniel Simmons, founder of Populate Social received Young Business Person of the Year at the Cardiff Business Awards 2017.  The prestigious awards, now in their third year, celebrate the Cardiff businesses that have experienced significant success over the past 12 months and contribute to both their respective sectors and the Cardiff economy.

The lavish ceremony, held at City Hall was hosted by BBC Wales news anchor Jamie Owen and featured live entertainment from Eurovision star Lucie Jones.  Amongst the big winners, were national broadcasters BBC Wales and cooling technology innovator Sure Chill.

Daniel, who was shortlisted for the same award last year, went up against young entrepreneurs Benjamin Milsom, Christian Evans and Owen Derbyshire.  The 24 year old business owner says the win came as a surprise to him:

“It’s humbling to receive recognition alongside some of the brightest and best businesses in the region. A massive thank you must go to all of the team for their hard work, without them I wouldn’t be standing here.”

Populate Social has worked with over 60 clients with brands ranging from luxury swimwear to providers of 3D images and animation.  The agency boasts the status as the only specialist social media marketing agency in Cardiff, shaking up what is fast becoming an extremely saturated market. The achievement reflects the ever-growing start-up scene in the Welsh capital, specifically within the life science and digital economy sectors.
